Texas Longhorns wide receiver Isaiah Bond decided to skip his senior year and try his luck in the 2025 NFL Draft. But things didn’t go the way he had planned. Just before the draft, Bond got into serious trouble — he turned himself in to Frisco, Texas police because of a sexual assault case. Bond gave a statement too, where he said he was innocent and promised to fully cooperate with the police.
Because of these allegations, Bond’s career took a big hit. When the draft ended, everyone was surprised that such a talented player didn’t get picked by any team.
Talent Wasn’t the Issue
Isaiah Bond had a strong college career. In just one season at Texas, he caught 34 passes for 532 yards and scored 5 touchdowns. He was already a known name from Alabama, where he made a legendary catch in the Iron Bowl, helping his team win a huge game.
During the NFL Combine, Bond tried his best. He wanted to break his former teammate Xavier Worthy’s 40-yard dash record, but he ran it in 4.39 seconds, which ranked him 9th among others. Even after that, Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian praised him, saying, “He had the fastest speed at the combine and has a very bright future.”
But because of injuries and legal problems, Bond’s draft journey became very tough. Now, all eyes are on whether he can find a spot in a team’s training camp once his legal issues are sorted out.
What’s Next for Isaiah Bond?
Now when Isaiah Bond does not get picked in the NFL Draft, everyone’s question is what next? Currently, Bond will have to clear his legal problems and then will get a chance to showcase his skills in some NFL team’s camp. Looking at his speed and talent, if everything goes well then it will not be difficult to win the trust of any team. But this time just talent will not be enough – now both consistency and image will have to be created.
