Songar Drones Attack: Pakistan’s Big Strike on India Using Turkish Technology

Tension has increased again on the India-Pakistan border. On the night of May 7 and 8, Pakistan sent around 300 to 400 drones into different parts of India. These drones targeted areas in Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, and Rajasthan. According to reports, Pakistan used Turkish-made Asisguard Songar drones for this attack.

What Is the Asisguard Songar Drone?

The Songar drone is Turkey’s first homemade armed drone. It is made by a defence company called Asisguard based in Ankara. What makes this drone special is that it can carry a machine gun and can be controlled remotely. It is mainly used by the army to watch over borders or to carry out attacks when needed.

How Was It Used Against India?

India’s Ministry of External Affairs said that Pakistan used these drones to attack military sites along the western border. These drones were sent to damage India’s defence infrastructure. But the Indian army quickly responded and shot down many drones using both physical and electronic methods.

What Is the Price of Songar Drone in Pakistan?

There is no official price shared publicly, but defence experts believe that one Songar drone may cost around $150,000 to $200,000, which is about 4 to 5.5 crore Pakistani Rupees. If Pakistan really used over 300 drones, then it spent a huge amount of money – maybe more than a billion rupees – just on this attack.

Why Is This Drone Dangerous?

The Songar drone is dangerous because it can shoot many bullets in one go. It has GPS, night vision, and a live camera feed. This means the person controlling it can see everything in real-time. Its range is around 10 kilometers, and it can even work in hilly or rough areas.

How Is India Responding?

After this attack, the Indian army has become even more alert. They have activated high-tech systems and anti-drone technology along the borders. The army has clearly said that India will not compromise on national security.
